Chevrolet Malibu History

Long before Tahoe and Colorado were honored with namesake vehicles by Chevrolet, Malibu, California gave its moniker to the high-end model of the Chevrolet Chevelle.  In 1978, the Malibu broke free from the Chevelle and became its own model.

Popular for its small size with a good-size engine, the Malibu has remained one of Chevy's most time-tested and resilient models.
