With loads of creature comforts and its 6.0-liter V12, 389 horsepower engine, there wasn't much to NOT like about the 1997 Mercedes-Benz S600. One of the more stunning features in the model year was the addition of xenon headlamps.
Mercedes also added side impact airbags and other safety features. Those features included an occupant detection sensor could deactivate the front passenger airbag and a Parktronic parking-assistance system.
Drivers listed acceleration, ride, control, handling, passenger comfort and cargo space as the vehicles pros. They were not happy, however, with the S600's fuel economy.
