What Do You Drive?

CarGurus' 1996 BMW 328 Review

BMW dropped a bigger, 2.8 liter engine into its popular BMW 325 in 1996 and renamed the car the 328. Almost immediately, the vehicle was a hit with fans of BMW's popular three series.

Outside of the newer engine, there is little to distinguish the 328 from its predecessor. The 328 borrows the same, stylish and rounded corners from other 3-Series vehicles and handles as one would expect a BMW-engineered vehicle to handle.

Hardcore drivers were baffled that BMW would offer this car with an optional, automatic transmission. Purists "can't imagine driving the 328 without BMW's five speed" manual. While the cabin is a bit cramped, the 328 was lauded for its "comfortable seats."
