What Do You Drive?

CarGurus' 1995 Chrysler Cirrus Review

With the arrival of the Cirrus, Chrysler could now showcase the clever cab-forward layout in a mid-size sedan.  The Cirrus was build up from the same LH platform utilized by many of the larger Chrysler and Dodge models.  The sedan received very positive reviews upon its 1995 release, but Cirrus reputation was hampered by reliability problems throughout its life.
The Cirrus was available in two trim levels: the base LX and the more luxurious LXi. Neither car underwent significant revisions throughout the Cirrus run, but the LX model was temporarily dropped in the late nineties.  Both cars were powered by a modest 164 horsepower 2.5 liter V-6, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.  Fuel economy for the 2990 pound sedan was rated at 20/28 mpg.  Every Cirrus was front wheel drive.
The LXi offered a few additional comforts and amenities like leather seating and a premium sound system.  Most reported problems were small irritations like power window and sunroof motors.  As drivers reached higher mileage marks, electrical problems and interior degradation were also common.
