2003 Saturn Vue Transmission? Not Moving

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Saturn Vue.  My husband drove it one day and then it quit on
him.  Would not go anywhere.  We had it towed home.   Well now we cannot
move the vehicle or even get it out of park?  Someone told us to check the cv
axles and there is about an inch of play on the drivers side front wheel.   Other
wheel has no play.   Can this be the problem or did my transmission go out?

Got to the bottom of the problem! Yah. Was getting ready to get transmission fixed when we were told to check the CV axles as Vue's seem to have a problem with axles popping out. Was able to manually adjust to neutral and then got vehicle to mechanic and had CV axles replaced. Drives like a dream. Found out dealer we bought vehicle from had complaints that the original transmission was slipping/hesitating during a test drive, so he found a wrecked Vue that had extremely low mileage and swapped out the transmission. Guess the mechanic did not do a good job! At least only $200 later and not $2000 later!
