I would NOT flush this old of a tranny. I have replaced many lines and have never flushed or drained rest of fluid. I will check level after new hose is on.

If you need new filter, then get it changed but otherwise just refill and let it idle until warm and check fluid and top off until full when trans is up to temp, good to go. Plus if you lost alot of fluid I would say you drain out enough to freshen it up until time for a filter change is needed, and do not do the power flush on a trans just normal manual drain & fill.

The flush washes the clutches clean of the needed abrasion material and waste your trans. If you can not drain it then vacuum it out under low pressure.

Do not over fill the trans take it slow with the amount you re-fill with and also as long as your not putting it in gear and in park or neutral you can crank it up and wait until trans has had time to get up to temp (cooling lines go to radiator to warm up during engine warm up) so its fine to crank up an wait till you top it back off alittle bit at a time. When trans fluid is hot it expands, so add it in smaller amounts.
