1998 Pontiac Bonneville no supercharge will not fire has gas batery good what is problem?

Driving to school went to pass someone gas it some gas then it spitted and sputtered and died tried to turn it over
and I get a click sound the altenator will move a hair that pulls Bk if that makes sense what could be the problem
has oil and all fluids

Ok update: towed to mechanic mechanic said engine locked up. Towed bk to house cuz couldn't afford his price. Once home took off belt and tried to hand turn it. Well guess what it turned freely. So what could the problem be now?
