Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tom thank you for your interest and time answering; I intentionally left out a
few details for simplicity sake here, but now need to expose my dumbass, I
paid the "Honest" guy $1500 up front to find a motor and install it, and upon
completion $1836 more. when I picked up the car, it sounded like a flat
lifter, which I am aware can happen after an engine has sat, and the
franchise owner asked me to drive it for abt 500mi to see if it would pump
up, seeing his predicament, I agreed and played ball. It got worse and I took
the car back, and he said he put a new set of lifters in it but that did not
cure the noise. So then he told me ha was going to replace the con rod
bearings, and im thinking why would you go through all that, when your
engine supplier should be licking your arse for giving you a bum motor? I
mean, the Honest shop owner says its the first time its ever happened.
BOTTOM LINE: It's August 5, and you accept $3300 bucks from a senior
55+/Veteran, FFWD to December 15, still no repair, car sits at shop. I need
a qualified/certified mechanic who will provide a loose, general hours
required, should it become necessary (and it is, make no mistake) to call in
the grease police and make this supposed PROFESSIONAL account for
what amounts to the bilking of a senior citizen. He's making a poor
statement for ALL mechanics, especially Honest-1's!!

I don't know that you are being bilked but it does sound like the motor is bad which the mechanic probably could not tell until it was running. Has the mechanic tried to get another motor from his supplier? You could complain to your states consumer protection agency.
