Asked by Guru6GG82 Apr 11, 2020 at 01:33 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Firebird Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have this weird noise when driving it almost sounds like the brakes are grinding on the rotor, but as I slow down and push in the clutch the noise goes away. anyone know what this could be?

Could be grime in your calipers or your calipers are not pulling away from the rotors. Check your rotors for wear. If there’s wear, you may need to bleed your system or replace your calipers/main.

Definitely clutch related, not brakes. Throw out bearings usually make noise when you depress the clutch. Clutch plate, just the opposite.
