Where am I losing ground?

Asked by Deadbone Aug 10, 2020 at 04:48 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I started my car and it started to sound like it was
running out of gas so I feathered the gas pedal and
it died. When I tried to start it back up it just turns
over and nothing. It's getting fuel to the rail and I
put a wire into the plug wire and it sparked but was
orange. It was showing 3 codes p0401, p0405 and
p0440. It is a 2000 Bonneville SSEI.

P0401 and 405 are EGR related and P44- is an evap code Check the vacuum lines to the EGR first and see all is connected. Remove the EGR and clean it, it might be full of carbon, reinstall and see if that helps.
