02 bonneville won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got this car from my dad and he told me
that all it needed was a new motor. I had
one of my friends look at it and he thinks
that it might just be the starter cause when
I try to start it all it does is make a loud
clanking noise. Haven't looked into it much
please help

That noise could be something that is broken inside the engine. If you think its the starter change it and see what happens.

Is there a way I can check to see Idk it's the starter, or a way to jump the starter or something?
