Fan does not blow any air

Hi,
I have a2003 Pontiac Sunfire; heater fan does not blow.  Checked fuse in car (near steering column)- OK; mechanic recommends (without looking at it) replace with used part for $75 ???

If the fan does run at any speed that usually rules out the resistor. Unplug the blower motor and check that is receiving power with the switch on high. If it is, the blower motor is faulty.

Old post, but we experienced this today, and the bad fuse was the 40- amp one marked "heater blower" under the hood.
