Hi, I just put my 1996 Ford Taurus in a Auto Body Shop In my neighbirhood over a month ago however it was my ex that took it into the shop its been at being worked on. When he took it in for me he took it in being it was having problems excellerating but once it did start to excelerate it ran very smoothly until you had to stop then itbwas hard to excelerate again. My ex thinks he knows about cars which he really does not however he did some online trouble shooting on my 1996 ford taurus and he believed it to be a Torque Converter 14-761. For one thing I was told that, that part is not even related to a ford because its not related to any fotd part number. The mechanic has now charged me $850 in labor and taxes just to put the part in which is what my ex told him to do. The mechanic is now saying he was doing us a favor putting the part in because he doesnt work on fords. He told me he would not sign off on my vehicle and his mother said even after her son was done with the work he and I arent sure that, that might not even have been what the problem was. I feel than he shoukdnt have taken the job on and someome isbtelling me it might have been a clogged hose. Please tell me what you guys think. I need all the help I can get. Thanks, From the one distraught.
