Is it normal for abs brakes to kick in when braking
all the time?

No,you have a speed sensor that has failed or lost it's proper gap. ( usually due to rust build up )

thanks, then why is the mechanic at the used dealership telling me there.s nothing wrong and they wont fix for me

Because they can, Sure not right though. Find someone to do the work that cares about the customer.

We had a backyard mechanic do the brakes on our 2007 torrent, it drove ok but as soon as they warmed up a little they lock up, get burning hot, smoking red hot! It's been sitting awhile, battery has been dead, could it be a sensor or anyone have an idea of what it could be?? We really need some help, please anybody!!!!

it's for sure not a sensor.If the brakes are getting that hot something is to tight or not put together properly,have them reinspect their work.
