Low beam headlights

Asked by Newpink1 May 30, 2018 at 11:17 AM about the 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 06 g6 that I keep replacing the passenger
side low beam, and it keeps blowing 3-4 weeks
maybe a few months if I’m lucky. Just changed the
plug due to being melted. What could be wrong (pic
of what I replaced)

We changed the pigtail but haven’t looked to see if it’s melted the new one. But the bulb isn’t coming on now

I am having the same issue. Replaced the pigtail and bulb on pass side, didn't work at all this time, however it will come on when the high beams are on. Did you figure anything out?

HAD SAME ISSUE! Replaced pigtail, and countless bulbs, even bought the high end bulbs which blew days later as well. PULL RUNNING DAYTIME LIGHTS FUSE. You can do without them. Has been fine since. Flaw in Pontiac.

Try replacing the wiring harness that goes to the headlights.. I have replaced several plugs and they kept melting.. You have to replace the whole wiring harnesses

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 with low beams burning out every few months. I've changed the bulbs and bulb connectors, checked fuses and changed Micro Relay also. The bulb and new connectors were tested before connecting to the wiring harness by touching the wires to the battery. This tells me the bulb and connectors are good and working. Once I connect to the wiring harness, they don't work. This is low beam only, as parking and high beams are working fine. Any thoughts ??

I read an answer like this before and tried it already. Pulled the DRL fuse and still have the same issue with the low beam headlights NOT working. Engine running or off, used my left hand then right, stood on one leg. Nothing is working.
