Have a 1997 E150 conversion with the 5.4 engine. The catalytic converter is clanging and needs replaced. Wondering if we can use the 48 state universal to replace it & what do we need to watch for?
Have found that a replacement can cost anywhere from $65 to $900. Currently have little money to fix it with. We know a typical shop will charge close to $1000 for parts and labor. Have a place that will weld it for $80 if we get the part. Don't have to have CA emissions so hoping to save with aftermarket part.
