Leaked out alot of antifreeze between the fire wall and the engine block

Asked by Robert Jan 24, 2019 at 04:40 PM about the 1996 Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Anyone know where the leak could be coming from and are there any inlet or
outlet lines between there?

There are two lines - on in and one out - to allow coolant to circulate through your heater box. One of them has likely sprung a leak. The inlet to the heater box runs from the radiator and the outlet from the heater box runs into the engine block.

You can get a free loaner tester from most auto parts stores. Replace the radiator cap with the test cap, which has an air fitting on it. Use the air pump, with engine off, and pump up to about 10 PSI. Believe me, you will see exactly where the leak is coming from, where ever it is coming from.
