It could be as simple as one of the transmission lines/hosesare cracked or broken or worse case the transmission housing or pan is cracked. I would personally take it to another mechanic, get some refferals from friends or others.

Must have been a hell of a curb. My 46 inch chest fits easily under my 96 explorer for tranny servicing without using a jack. However........ Make the hubby position himself under the truck while you pour in some tranny fluid. Look to see where it is comming from. It's either comming from the tranny pan (rearward of the engine oil pan - flat - with a drain plug in it. It will be banged up if it's leaking from the impact.) Or a fluid line running toward the radiator. If you're thinking about getting rid of your fiancee, get a new mechanic while you're at it. If he's not willing to even take a look under the car, he's just trying to look into your pocketbook to see how much cash you have.
