Clutch issues

Just had a brand new clutch kit put in my car and it
first the clutch is fine it responds well but after
driving it for a while it's like a clutch is slipping the
engine revs up high I hold the clutch in release the
clutch push the gas and it revs real high but it
doesn't go forward very fast at all it's like a slipping
clutch but clutch is brand new I'm just wondering if
anybody had this problem the mechanic is
stumped he said something about a dampener but
we don't know. anybody got any ideas?

Does it rev high when you start the car, if so check your intake hoses. My 99 mercury cougar had a similiar problem and the valve cover hose blew. After I changed it, the problem kept happening. There was a rubber cap that also blew off behind the manifold. Once I put that back it ran normally.
