Question type: Maintenance & Repair

But a brand new fuel pump fuel filter mass air flow
sensor idle control valve vacuum control valve.
Checked all the fuses all good but still no fuel
pressure. Also started it with starting fluid starts
up and then shuts off and I'm banging my head
against the wall.

Did you check the fuel shut off switch in the trunk. It should be on passenger side quarter panel.

Yes and it wasn't popped. Anything is all I did was replace the clutch it was running fine before all this

BTW, your picture shows the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve, not the fuel pump. The fuel pump is in the gas tank. Try hitting the bottom center of the gas tank a few times with a hammer. If that gets you going it's definitely the fuel pump. Hope that helps! Jim

Yeah those are all new and also when I turn the key on I can hear my fuel pump kick on for that split- second like I said I got you all into the fuel filter and then after that there's nothing

The only thing I did not replace it was the relay but I was reading. As long as you can hear your pump it's working. Like I said I have all brand new stuff and it's still doing the same thing before I did all this work

Here's a good question I disconnected the lines on my fuel tank cycle the key you can hear the pump kick on but nothing comes out of the fuel outlets

I'd suspect a defective fuel pump. You should definitely get gas squirting out of the line at the gas tank. Jim

Yea that's the 2 one in it. It turns on like it's supposed to and then cycles off. It's just frustrating cuz all I did was replace the clutch I put a stage one in it best aggravating part

And both pumps are brand new and they both do the same thing so I wasn't sure if there was something else that can control that thanks

Did you move or disconnect any wiring harnesses during the clutch replacement? If so, retrace your steps. A wire may have broken or a plug now has a bad connection. That's the trouble with doing a major repair on an older model. Things need to be moved that haven't been touched since the vehicle was built. Then when you move them, wires and vacuum hoses crack and break creating problems! Hope that helps! Jim

Ok thanks I'll start back there and try. Oh yes when I work at Ford we used to get pack rat problems and other things. I just thought it was weird
