Okay, well I came across a nice looking Nissan Altima with a
LOW ball price. It immediately caught my eye, so I click on the
ad to check it out...
Description listed below photo is what I read..

Based on from the ad, it's a "2005 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE
sedan 4D" that needs "timing change" is she meaning TIMING
CHAIN? Orrrr Is tming chain/change THE SAME THING??
About how much money would I look at investing into fix the
problem?

So thats prolly the timing chain tensioner. An my shop charges around $350-$450. Including parts ($70-$100) an labor ($250-$350). Just depends on the shop an how nice they are. Labor is whats really gunna get. But if u go buy the part ur self an asl them to install u could save some money on the labor

Yes, they are likely saying timing chain. The trouble is, there could be additional engine damage. So if you plan on buying it, you are taking a chance that you may get away with just the timing chain OR you may need to replace the entire engine. Be wary unless you can do the work yourself.
