I have a 2005 Nissan Altima. Fuel or air issues

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima. 2 years ago my husband hit a deer. Other than
body damage the radiator was busted and the manifold cracked. There were
the major issues we had to replace on it. Since then the car has been having
a rough time starting and spits and sputters going down the road but not
constantly. It only comes and goes while driving but when it's sitting idle it
runs rough and sputters like it's going to die. In the past 2 years we have
replaced every single sensor that has to do with fuel and air. including both
oxygen sensors, mass air flow sensor, the sensor connected to the gas
pedal and a few others than I cannot recall the names of off the top of my
head. We replaced the coils and plugs twice and the fuel pump twice,
thinking it was potential faulty parts because of where we ordered them from.
We took it to a shop to replace the computer and they told us it didn't need
the computer updated or replaced, that is was just the injector on bank 3. We
replace this and the car now stays running and doesn't die but it still
consistently spits and sputters. We ran premium fuel ( full tank) plus the fuel
system cleanout additive and still nothing has gotten better. Next to pushing
it off a cliff, I don't know what else it could be

I'd trade it in for something newer that wants to run. After doing all you've done over the last two years and it still won't run right I'd be done with it!! If you push it off a cliff you won't get anything for it. Trade it in and you'll get some of your money back that you've spent on parts that hasn't fixed the problem. Time to move on in my opinion. Hope that helps! Jim
