First gen 1991 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4

Asked by Cronical45 May 21, 2017 at 05:52 PM about the 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I brought a tranny last year. It ran good had to take
to shop this year. Machanic told me my first line 1st
to second is bad. I was thinking sucrose but he said
no because if you go into these gears slow I can
drive. He said it's a pin that he would have to
customize that goes into tranny. Well the guy got
fired and I can't find him he's really good. Does
anyone have any idea of what it may be called or
had to get same work done I really don't wanna buy
another transmission specially for a first gen.

Grinding when shifting? What brand trans fluid you using? Try penzoil synchro mesh. In both trans and transfer case. My 91 grinded bad when I first got it. Change oil over to synchro mess and within three days she was shifting smooth as silk again.
