Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Had the oil changed in y 2017 ford fusion 5 days ago. Now battery won't hold a charge overnight. Charges as I drive but drains overnight.

It could be a bad ACM (Audio Control Unit) The ACM may need a firmware upgrade also the original Mexican 12 volt battery was defective on some models. If the battery is more than 3 years old it could just be normal wear a tear and needs replacement. I would charge the battery full overnight then do a load test (AutoZone can do that) to determine if the battery is still good or not as a start to fixing your issue. I have a 2017 Fusion Energi Hybrid with the same problem, it's at the Ford dealer now

I just called Autozone and was told they couldn't recharge that kind of battery due to it being apart of a hybrid system and they aren't permitted to work with them

Hybrid cars have two batteries: the Hybrid battery and a 12 volt battery, just like other cars. By your question, I'm assuming you're talking about the 12 volt battery. Places like Autozone aren't equipped to work on Hybrid cars; there's just too much risk being around that big battery, so having them address anything electrical, beyond replacing the 12 volt battery, they just can't do. Those 12 volt batteries have a lifespan of three to five years, and as your Fusion is five years old, you likely just need to replace that battery. I'd recommend you go to a dealer or an independent who's qualified to work on Hybrid cars to do this. While there, have them assess the hybrid battery and the charging system, as well.
