Under the back seat is correct they did that a lot in the Mitsubishi Galant it's a whole lot easier to fix saves a whole lot of time you don't have to drop no gas tank in and out and yes you have a clogged filter or a pump it is not sending enough pressure then it would definitely cause a rough start up or bad acceleration or your timing could be off a little bit being rough when you hit the gas or dying right after you start it it might even start up after you hit the tank but every situation is always a little different but in the same sentence you could always figure out if it's your fuel pump my spring a little starting fluid if it don't start straight into the intake which is the air filter if it starts for a second then dies it's definitely a fuel pump whole bunch of different scenarios but yes much easier if you just check the backseat it should be a little panel you'll have to take it off and then you'll see your fuel pump lid with lines hope this helps make sure you unplug your negative cable from your battery undo your gas cap also to relieve the pressure and if you have a gas line underneath your hood push it in other than that you're good to go good luck
