Car wont start.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 mini cooper. Drove it to work and was completely fine. After work went to
turn on car, and there was no power at all, automatic locks wouldn't unlock no internal
lights, turn key and absolutely nothing happened, no lights not a sound. Popped hood
and smelled a burning smell like something electrical. Tried jumping the battery, but
when i put on the jumper cables a strange humming sound starts for about a minute
and than slowly stops. i try to start the engine with the jumper cables on, and now when
i turn key i can turn on head lights and my dash lights light up, but still my car doesn't
make a sound. If anyone has any idea what is wrong that would be appreciated greatly.

Check your battery connections, get a jump or buy a new battery. Car should open with the fob after the battery charged/ changed.

Did not read the entire question, sounds like a short in the system. Look for any wires that are broken or frayed, especially near the firewall and under the hood near the wheel wells. Check fuse box, inside and outside of the cabin. Good Luck
