I was also told at the dealership that this can happen if you drive your car only for very short distances or for less than 15 minutes. Starting the car and all the systems drains the battery, and then it never has a chance to fully recharge. I often drive 10 minutes or less to school, so I think he is right. I bought one of those battery tenders online for about $25 and plan to periodically charge the battery.

I own Honda Fit 2019, 8500 miles odometer, initial battery died 4000 miles, replaced and same dead battery problem at 8000 miles, installed 3rd new battery this week. I'm beginning to think I have a lemon on my hands. Dealer replaced batteries under warranty; however, they decline to investigate for causal issues and assume it is the battery itself that is the problem.

With 8,500 miles on a three year old car, it sounds like you don't drive it a lot. The problem of batteries dying too soon is often caused by the engine not being run for long periods of time, which could be as little as a few days, and this is inherent in all cars today. So I have an effective suggestion for you. If you let the car sit unrun for a week or longer, just buy an inexpensive Battery Tender. They attach to the battery like a charger and plug into house current, and keep the battery fully charged when sitting idle. And it doesn't matter how long..... A decade ago, batteries were beginning to get stressed, but with all the added electrical stuff running in today's cars when an engine is off, there's a need for better batteries. Car manufacturers answered this need with even cheaper new car batteries, and this is true of ALL of them. You might try replacing the stock battery with a high capacity battery that's designed for your car, and make it a Glass Mat battery, like an Optima or any other brand. I've had great success with them..... Hope this helps.
