99 cougar

replaced alternator with new but headlights flicker when on. Any ideas why. also engine rpms are slow to drop especially in 1st and 2nd . Could that be tps or?  thanks

the throttle hang was a common problem with the 2.5 duratec. the fix is to take a copper pipe cap, drill a 5/16 hole in it and place it into the rubber hose going from the intake duct to the intake manifold on the drivers side of the car. if you look at contour.org the procedure is listed there. Are you sure that your alternator connections are tight and the lights have ground?

thanks made a big difference with the throttle hang as far as the alternator everything is tight might try adding a better ground setup to the battery
