Mine does the same thing. I brought it to the dealer today. He said it’s a computer factory setting. It happens when the car sits for 5 minutes or longer because it takes the computer that long to fully shut down. If you immediately restart it doesn’t happen. It drives me freaking nuts but he said there’s nothing I can do about it. Just keep the volume turned down. Sooooo irritating.

There must be a way to shut the auto on program. This is really annoying

I will continue to ask every single time I bring the car in to the dealership. Evidently this exact issue was a problem with Subaru. From what I’ve gathered online, Subaru issued a software update to fix it. I’m assuming that’s something that would be done at the dealership. If I find out they do, I will post here.

Waiting for dealer to find solution. They say it is a software issue.

I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH MY NISSAN ROGUE 2018. JUST BOUGHT IT IN JANUARY AND THE DEALER ACTS AS THOUGH HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT AND HE SAID THAT I SHOULD KEEP DOING UPDATES. YOU WOULD THINK THAT NISSAN WOULD COME UP WITH A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. MAYBE I SHOULD HAD NOT BOUGHT A NISSAN. NISSAN WAS AT ONE TIME A RELIABLE BRAND BUT NOT SO SURE NOW.

I am having the same problem with my 2018 Rogue that I bought last week. The dealership has no knowledge of their being a problem and of course did not happen when I bought it to them. I never had a problem with my 2015 Rogue. My husband thinks it has to do with my I phone.

I HATE IT. And NOW Sirius has put a "free offer" and I can't even change channels. If you try to call their number (visible in the ad) it doesn't work. This is worse than robo calls. At least you can hang up on them. I have a Samsung so I don't think it is the type of phone you use. HATE IT.

I’ve had the same problem with my 2018 Rogue. I took it in a few times and showed that in the manual this was not supposed to happen. They said it was a software issue that required un update, but they probably wouldn’t fix it and I was the ONLY one who had ever complained... it drives me crazy. I’ve been driving for many years and have never a car do this before.

Good news. I downloaded and installed software update on July 1, 2018 which fixes problem. Connect your Rogue to wifi and get updated.

My 2018 Rogue connects to wifi but doesn't download system software upgrade. Stayed connected for 5min and still no progress. I tried updating map and it started downloading. Any suggestion/tips? Thanks, Jay

our 2018 Rogue does the same. Even when I turn it off, it will come back on. Did software update but no change

Here’s what I did. Turn on the WiFi in your car and then go into info. Go to system and do an update. It may take a few times to get it to connect but once it does, wait until the car completes the updates and the problem should be fixed.

If you want your audio to stay OFF when you start the car, then the work around is to set your Audio input to AUX before turning your car off. That way when you turn the car back on, the audio system does turn on, but it is looking for audio coming from the AUX jack which wont have anything if you don't have anything plugged in. Thus, when you turn your car on, there is no sound. The issue is a programming issue from the radio manufacturer. I'm not holding my breath on a fix, but I have been talking to the dealer every time I go in so that they can document it.

Connected to wireless. Went into Info menu. Then System Information. Then Software Version. Car says it has version 140. When I go back and instead hit Software Update and tell it to start a software update, car says that it has checked for an update as of December 26th, 2018 (today is the 27th). Won't accept a manual check. No progress today. Thanks for great input, all. I'll see if Dealer can force it to update to version 151 as mentioned above.

leased a 2019 on march 24, 2019 and this issue just started today, may 6...I know it cant be right..did the system update, mine now says softwear version 0154, but, still didnt fix the radio issue..I can push "audio off" and it will shut off the radio, but, if I move the volume button up or down the radio comes back on..this cant be right..I'm gonna go with the suggestion to use "aux" input for now, keeps the audio off..we'll see what the dealer says on my first 5000 service...never had a car do this before, including a 2016 rogue I had previously

I have a 2018 Rogue. Worse car I ever owned.Radio is just one issue. I've brought it in at least ten times the first year for ABS problems to rattling etc. I have leased cars for over 20 years so I have alot to compare. The Honda Accord gets my vote as most reluable

If you forget something in the car and open the door and then close it. The music starts even if there is no one and no key inside! It happens sometimes the music was on for few hours before I realized it.

THIS IS SO ANNOYING!! I have 2018 Rogue, LAST SOFTWARE UPDATE IS 0810, on November 9, 2019 AND IT IS NOT FIXED!!!

so, to avoid this annoying problem that nissan has no answer for, just follow the suggestion from peterk75 shown above: before shutting off the audio, switch the source to "aux"..then, press the power button and it should turn off the audio, then press the "map" button and you will go back to the map screen you should see the message "audio off" flash across the infotainment screen..now, you are defaulted to "aux" input, and there will be no unwanted sound when you turn the car back on as there is nothing in the aux input jack for the car to play I realize this is 3 unnecessary steps that we should not have to take just to turn off the audio feed, but, I've also done all the updates and nothing else works after a while, it just becomes 2nd nature and wont bother you at all if you like the rest of the car, which I do

We were at the dealer today 7/16/2020 with our 2019 Murano. We were concerned that “we were nuts” and the radio can just possible play for no reason when the car is in the garage! The service writer said “It’s a known problem (to Nissan) and they don’t know how to fix it! At first I was chalking this up as a victory because I’m “not nuts” but after reading this thread and learning that this has but going on for years kinda pissed me off a bit...
