My car took several tries to start.

My car took several
tries with no start.
Finally it started. My
fuel gauge is 1/4 full.
Could this be the
problem. I know only
to put 91% gas in. I
was also told be a
mechanic to get my
serpentine belt
replaced soon. Could
this be the problem?
