Ignition on 2006 dodge daytona6

I have a 2006 dodge charger r/t Daytona.
When I got home,  removed my key from
ignition, opened my door and the car chimes
as if the key is in the ignition, even tho it's
not.  When we try to start the car,  it won't
even click over fully to start.
