Rear tailgate light bar

I just purchased a 2018 edge SEL. I have noticed on other edges the red light
bar on the tailgate is illuminated when the headlights are on - mine doesn't
illuminate. Should it?

Its because the ones with that feature are titanium trim or higher.

    I do not understand how the rear tires get traction, when their is NO gears or propeller shaft, no electronic propeler or gears. Can some one tell??
