Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99 ford ranger xlt 4x4  won't start in cold
weather.  I replaced battery, and the starter is new
along with alternator. It just clicks like a low
battery. Any ideas why

Number 1 cause of such issues is battery cable and ground connections. Those connections have to be absolutely clean, free from corrosion and tight. Also the starter solenoid can be an issue. Buy one from Ford if you can cause the aftermarket solenoids are mostly crap. How cold is the weather that you are trying to start it in?

Hey Bob, it is -10F where I am at and my vehicle still turns over due to good battery connections and battery. Good advice.

-10F is pretty cold. If the engine turns over then not much you can do but try to keep it warmer. A block heater might be a good investment.

Bob, My engine and systems are top notch, I have no problems. Just butted in to say good morning. But it is still -10 here.
