When accelerating from a stop.
Sometimes the transmission seems to
lack pressure and accelerates slowly.

Does the RPM increase??? To test trans slip, put trans in gear... Apply brakes firmly and do not release pressure until you shift back to park... While in gear with brakes applied increase the throttle... If RPM increases, your trans is in need of professional help... This is called a stall test...
