2017 evoque wont security

Asked by Joe Sep 19, 2020 at 08:25 PM about the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque HSE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not sure if this went through the first time....

The battery was completely dead

I had to slim jim the lock to open the door to get the hood open

When I connected jumper cables the alarm went off...after pressing the
remote buttons the alarm stopped

When I tried to start the vehicle, all the lights electronics etc worked...but it
does not engage/turn over.  Is this a security feature?

I tried putting the fob under the steering wheel....no luck

IMPORTANT NOTE....  The physical key had broken off months ago and is
lost... So i had just been using the fob/push button to start.

How did you slim Jim the door lock - my battery is completely dead as well and the remotely emergency key doesn’t work anyway as there’s no power at all

How did you slim jim the lock - my battery is completely dead and even the physical emergency lock doesn’t work anyways as there’s no power at all - just need to get to the bit that allows me to pop the bonnet so I can replace the battery :(
