How can I fix my car?

Asked by Guru9D7X7P Nov 19, 2020 at 12:41 AM about the 2017 Hyundai Accent SE Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I went over the pass and had to put chains
on my tires for the first time. I drove not even
three miles before I had to pull over because
my check engine, ABS, low tire pressure,
traction control and electronic power steering
warning lights all came on! I am getting a
code of P2159 but does that explain my
electronic power steering? Could it be as
simple as maybe the chains got loose and
pulled something loose on the tire and I just
need to connect it? The car was in great
condition before this and no indication that
any of these problems would arise.

I suspect you damaged the wheel speed sensor wiring. Chains are not the thing to use. You need cables for low clearance cars.

Thank you so much! I got under there and there are definitely some torn and frayed wires near the tire! so I am going to try to splice them back together before having to take it in to get the harness the wiring replaced. Could this explain the electronic power steering light as well?
