Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The recommended pressure ratings for my
Ram 2500 are different: 60 psi for the front
and 80 for the rear. Why is this? Can I set
them all at 80?

Hello, my car recommended pressure rating is different: initially I use to set at 60psi for all tires till I reviewed the car technical manual.. I decided to follow the technical specs , front 60psi and 80psi rear and so far I haven’t experience any issue.the car is more stable on the road and takes more drive days to loose pressure.

If your tires are rated for that pressure go ahead but the ride will be very rough. If this were my truck I would probably run 35 to 40 psi when Unloaded. Those pressures are for maximum load. Watch the tire wear pattern for signs of under or over inflation. I run E rated tires on my PU and keep them around 35 psi with excellent results.

So my door label on my 2021 2500 Diesel with 20" wheels says 65 psi all around. However, when I check tire info online, they require 80 psi. I'm confused. LT285/60R20 125/122R Load Index 125 = 3,690 lbs (1,677 kg) per tire Load Index 122 = 3,368 lbs (1,531 kg) per tire Speed Rating “R” = 106 mph (170 kph) E Max Load = 3,640 lbs Max psi = 80 psi
