When the check engine light is on, that means there is a sensor detecting a problem with your engine management system and stores a fault code. The Cruise control light is flashing because once the CEL comes on the Cruise control is disabled. So you will need to scan for the fault codes with a OBDii scanner, have an auto part store do it for you or drop off a mechanic or dealer. Once you have the 4 digit fault code you can start troubleshooting a repair.
