Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2017 Chevy Malibu Premier was a lease car bought this with 19,000 miles @
24,000 started kicking and the rpms were racing the engine.....engine light
came on then when we got home finally after keeping the speed @ 40mph in
a 55mph road....pulled into the drive way....went to back it up to straighten
the car up...would not go in reverse....but would go forward and into
DRIVE......called the dealership the next morning on MONDAY said to drive it
in......said guess because of the cold it must of got debree underneath the
cylinder....and they reset the mechanics...was told they have never seen this
before.... drive it home.....fine.....drive it for 2 days 6 miles round trip each
day....drove fine......Then went into the city....drove it 25 miles one way and
acted up again.....Kicking.....engine light went on again after they said this
was fixed the problem.....This was Saturday afternoon....Called them service
dept was closed....Drove it to the Chevy dealership gave me a loaner
truck...that is all they had to drive.....Today is Monday....Called.....said they
cannot figure out why this engine light will go off....they will check into
another program they will have to get from GM! That is the story now!

Is this going to keep doing this.....Can GM correct this....or do i need to get
rid of this car? Never had this happen to me before.....I need to Know the
truth on this vehicle.

Hello Got my 2017 Chevy Malibu Premier Back.....My GM dealership is the best! I was told they have not seen problems with this car. GM got back with them and told them how to reprogram this car! NO transmission issues! Thank goodness. GM you should be ashamed of yourself.....this is a 2017 Malibu....you know there is problems with this car! For a 2017 you should have all the problems worked out of this car. Whatever you are doing.....to these engines Stop it! It is not working. Go back to what works. I cannot believe you would put your name on something......That is soo dangerous to drive. Been 2 weeks i think we have had this car back.....We have drove the heck out of this car to make sure this issue is fixed. I think it is......But my suggestion in buying any car......I would by from a dealership......that is local.....GM Ford, etc not a dealership that sells everything......that cares about their customers and reputation. My dealership is small but just big enough......and they do alot of things for our community. Soo i do not think they would want any of their customers to say bad things about them and their service. The dealership really went out of their way to get this car right! ALso, GM why do you put these dealership thru these headaches? Shame on you! For everyone else.....I hope i have helped....This is a computer glitch in this car....Not a transmission problem.....GM does make this right.....now i hope i will not be resetting this after soo many miles.....Anyone has that issue-give me the heads up! Thanks for having this site.....Does give us car owners the heads up!
