2000 FORD RANGER 3.O OIL PRESSURE NEEDLE WAS JUMPING AT IDLE STEADY UNDER ACCELERATION DEVELOPED KNOCKING , WHICH BECAME VERY LOUD SOUNDS ALMOST LIKE ROD BUT HIGHER UP NOISE SOMETIMES DECREASES TEMP GOOD CRANKS FINE JUST NOISY

Your engine is on its way out replace it or get a new truck.
