2000 was a half year for the tahoe. You could have the older style truck with the 5.7 (96-2000) will work but make sure your getting a 5.7. Or you could have the newer 5.3 engine. They are 99-04, i might be wrong on the "04" part. just make sure the 5.3 you get doesn't have DoD (displacement on demand)
