2006 Infiniti m45 transmission speed sensor

Asked by Soren250 Mar 14, 2017 at 12:15 AM about the 2006 INFINITI M45 Sport RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm looking for the location of the transmission
speed sensor. Had the the car on ramps and looked
all over for it and can't find direct answers online.
Recently replaced the camshaft and crank shaft
sensors as well. Now the engine light popped off
again and the code was PO717 I believe. Any help
would be greatly appreciated thanks!

The sensor to which you refer should be located near the end of the TAILSHAFT bellhousing which is attached to the TRANSMISSION bellhousing. The photo below (although not your model or year) indicates the location with a yellow arrow. The P0717 fault code refers to the Turbine Revolution Sensor which is located on top of the transmission bellhousing as indicated by the red arrow. If the Turbine Rev Sensor fails, you get a P0717 fault and data from the Transmission Speed Sensor is sent to the computer instead, thereby allowing you to continue driving. The Transmission Speed Sensor also controls your speedometer/odometer.
