Where is the high beam indicator light located on a 1981 Fleetwood

Asked by froeschl Apr 14, 2021 at 12:31 PM about the 1981 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When switching on the high beam on my '81 Cadillac Fleetwood (which I
purchased recently), no blue indicator light comes on. Acc. to the owner's
manual, there should be a warning light somewhere in the instrument panel.
But there isn't any. So either the bulb is broken or there is any wiring issue.
Thanks, Peter

Given the age of the vehicle I'd suspect the bulb is burned out for the indicator. Especially if the high beam headlights are actually coming on. That bulb is most likely a 194. Hope that helps! Jim

Oh and if I remember correctly the high beam indicator is a blue Cadillac crest in the center of the speedometer. Hope that helps! Jim
