2016 altima. Limp mode after transmission replacement

Asked by Kdub6289 Jan 05, 2020 at 04:42 PM about the 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trans went out at 95kmi (not terribly surprising) I sourced a used unit with 32k
miles on it from a theft recovery vehicle. Replaced the trans and torque
converter with the low mileage units. Got everything back together and I believe
the car is in limp mode. In drive, It will drive up to 10mph then not go past that,
in reverse it will go no matter the speed. Anything I'm missing?

Btw. It was throwing codes p2765 p0500 and p0746. Checked and replaced all speed sensors with the ones off the old transmission and the same issue persists.. did I get a bad trans?

What ended up happening im having same problem after a swaping a used transmissions on my 2016 altima know its in limp mode

I still haven't found the solution. Nissan told me I bought a bad trans but I think they are scammers. Basically you have to go to nissan and have then download a file on to your tcm to match new valve body

Wow are you serious i just took my car to a mechanic because i did the swap at home it would not go over 20 mph i think we have same issue what are you going to do did your transmission come with a warranty? I got one with 15000 miles for 950, with 6 month warrany the new one cost 1900$

Did you ever find the issue on this? I recently changed the motor out on my 15 and the exact same thing happened when I put everything back together. It throws the P0500 and the P2765 code and goes into limp mode about 5 seconds after startup.
