Car issues!

Asked by Connie Feb 24, 2019 at 07:27 PM about the 2005 Hyundai Elantra SE Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My question is in the winter time
and I start my Hyundai it kind of
squeals if I shut off the car and
start it back up sometimes it quit
squelling if I try to back out it kind
of seems like either the power
steering or the tires they just don't
want to go you know it seems like
when you're turning a sharp turn is
when there's an issue it seems
like with the steering wheel in the
tires wanting to move. I just had
the CVC joint and a ball joint
replaced on my vehicle it seems
to have kind of a shimmy or a
vibration a little bit in the steering
wheel but I think possibly that
might be a worn tire on one Edge.

Most likely worn or loose power steering belt. Might also be a good idea to replace serpentine belt at the same time. As far as the shimmy you have it could be tire/rim out of balance. Hopefully they did an alignment if not you should have that checked anytime suspension parts are replaced. Good Luck!
