Heater not working right

Driving my 2005 Hyundai yesterday, on a very brisk fall day, I noticed that, while
I was driving, the heater was putting out very tepid/cool air, even though the
engine temp was at normal and the heat adjustment was set at HOT. AND, a
few seconds after I lift my foot off of the accelerator, the cool(ish) air coming
from the vents gets colder.
NOTE: A new radiator and the kit that goes with it was installed  about six
months ago.

This is common problem that doesn't get noticed until cold weather. The heater is near the top of the cooling system where air bubbles collect, and that keeps the heater from working. So you want to top up the radiator and then fill the coolant overflow bottle to the full/cold line with a 50/50 mix. That should fix it and check that coolant level again in a few days as it will replenish the radiator after several drive cycles......hot/cold. Consider a new $5 radiator cap that helps that happen.
