Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Could it be a sensor, torque converter, solenoid,filter, linkage? Please advise
whether it has to be changed out or replaced? Which I can't afford to do. The
approximate value of auto is probably valued at $ 1,550.00.

Sounds to me the trany is worn out. May be a solenoid but you would need to get it to, or ask a transmission shop for the proper diagnosis.

my 1996 ford taurus gl when going down the road and coming to a full stop. the car will not move unless you put it in neutral and back to drive it will then go down the road. If i take it easy shifting is smooth but if i give it excessive gas it shifts rough we changed transmission fluid and filter and replaced speed sensor what could be the problem need help bad to get this thing going 3 Answers
