Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My sliding doors won't open by button only
close.  Is this common on this model and is

Did you reset the doors? did you cleaned the contact points on both doors and body?

turn the sliding power door switch off, remove all the fuses related to the sliding doors, open the door manually then close the door manually, reinstall the fuses, turn switch back on and see if they work.

turn switch off again, open drivers sliding door manually ( leave it open ) pull ALL fuses for the doors again. ( wait a minute ) reinstall the fuses. turn the switch back on,then push the close button on dash or key fob to close door.

Our 2002 passenger side door would not open or close. Resetting the doors was the first thing I tried. Good advice. Had to force it open, the door had one bent/damaged pin/contact on the door frame Contact Assembly. I literally removed the damaged pin/contact on the Sliding Door Contact Assembly. Drastic, but it was a hobson's choice. It opens/closes from the switch on the dash and manually but not with the key fob. Have not searched a replacement in the boneyards, yet. They're north of $130 new. Inspect all the contacts to determine that none are not damaged. The car's not here, can't see pix. Interesting avatar you have, anyway, good luck.
