Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX that will crank but not start. It was working
fine while I was driving it but when I got home to grab something and crank it
back up it just turned off when i put it in reverse. I replaced my fuel pump
relay, checked for spark from the spark plugs, and listened for my fuel pump
to see if it was working and also sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body. I
even changed my alternator and nothing... Please someone help me figure
out why it wont crank.

alternator may have died , you need a multi tester and a batt charger perhaps , wait , start it and see if you get 14+ volts at the batt. if not the alt is no good , don't make a new alt charge a weak batt. make sure it is charged scan for codes and get the definitions if things don't work out

I’m having the same issue, I can get the engine to crank but it won’t actually turn over. I changed my fuel pump relay and still nothing. Have you found the issue yet?

It is the relay switch. Mine was doing the same and I read a blog by someone who owned several Hondas who gave this advice. They were 100% correct. It hasn't done it ever again.

I have Honda accord and I believe that my crank sensor is going out cause when crank it up it will start some times but then there will be times it wont start. So I leave sit for couple hours and when i go back to crank it up it starts up. Could that be my cranks sensor?

It is 100% the relay switch. I replaced mine and it has never happened again.
