Before you go spending big money on a battery do some simple checks. Spark plugs, do they need changing? Are the plug leads in good condition ie no splits and not loose on the spark plugs? Take off the distributor cap and check it for cracks, check and clean the 4 brass contacts inside the cap. While you've got it off check the contact on the bit that spins inside the distributor. Next is the ht leadto the ignition coil in good condition? If everything checks out with the ignition then check the fuel system. Start at the fuel pump and work your way forward. If the fuel filter you changed was the small "in line" clear plastic one make sure you installed it the right way round. They're directional and should have arrows showing the direction of fuel flow through the filter.
